2008-2009 PIC Divisional Employees of the Year

Congratulations to Frank Altier, Harry Metz, and Norene Smith who are being recognized as Private Industry Council of Westmoreland/Fayette, Inc. Divisional Employees of the Year. In June, Tim Yurcisin, President awarded each a $500 check and an engraved personalized pen.

PIC Early Childhood Development Divisional Employee of the Year - Harry Metz
Harry Metz is the Transportation Coordinator for Head Start. He was nominated for his hard work on the video developed for PIC's 25th Anniversary celebration. He performed a lot of work after hours and took little time to make changes. After the celebration, Harry helped convert the video into one used to orient new employees to the organization and one that could be posted on the PIC website. According to a supervisor, Harry displays effort and dedication to the Head Start program. He also displays initiative and creativity.

PIC Education Divisional Employee of the Year - Norene Smith
Norene Smith is a secretary in the Greensburg office. In approximately a year and a half, Norene has demonstrated the ability to quickly learn about the various programs and services provided by PIC. It was noted that Norene is dependable and thorough, requires little direction and takes initiative. She is always professional when interacting with clients, callers, and visitors. Her nominators state that Norene has taken on additional duties and special projects including teaching and tutoring for Education and Technology Institute (ETI), proofreading documents, mass mailings, creation and maintenance of databases, statistics, PowerPoint presentations, and reports. She has a great attitude and frequently goes above and beyond expectations.

PIC Workforce Development Divisional Employee of the Year - Frank Altier
Frank Altier is an Account Representative at the PA CareerLink Westmoreland with over 20 years of work history at PIC. His knowledge of his duties and the employer customers that he serves is noted as exemplary by his nominators and supervisor. It is also stated that Frank always gives more than 100%. Even during the current difficult economic times, Frank continues to be successful in securing On-the-Job-Training (OJT) and Customized Job Training (CJT) contracts. He is always willing to help co-workers and provides job development assistance to secure employment for clients of other PIC programs.
