"Holly Jolly Holiday"
Books Featured: "The est Christmas" by Hunt Ever
The kids heard the sounds of bells and new that our special visitor was going to be Santa. After Santa made his entrance, the children took turns sitting on his lap and telling him what they wanted for Christmas.
"All About Turkeys"
Books Featured: "All About Turkeys" by Jim Arnosky
The children guessed what skin went to each animal and they were invited to touch wach animal pelts incuding: a gray and red fox, a bear, deer, mink, bobcat, beaver, opossum, skunk, and racoon. They also touched turkey feathers and a turkey foot. The evening ended with a distribution of a book and a treat bag.
"Patty's Pumpkin Patch"

The children partcipated in game stations including Pumpkin hula hoop toss, Mr. Bones game, and witch's Brew, then they created pumpkin lanterns, fall trees, and pumpkin faces. They were given activity packets to take home and a bag of "goodies".
"Keeping Safe"

Books Featured: "A Day with Police Officers" by Jan Kottker
The book A Day with Police Officers were read to the children and their family. The children had the opportunity to sit in side the police car and manipulate the controls. They did fingerprinting, made a telephone craft, made an emergency phone list, created a badge and hat, and worked on the McGruff packet. The officer talked about safety to the children.
"Back to School Festival"

Mr. Getto explained the scout's tradition of saluting the flag. Children enjoyed the activities which ranged from an obstacle course to a putting game.
"End of Year Luau"

Children and parents celebrated the beggining of summer while spotting 1001 things in the sea.
"Sea Life"

Children learn about sea creatures, shells, and hermit crabs while practicng sorting skills with the Carnegie Science Cennter's Science on teh Road presentation.

"Stuffee"

Book Featured : "The Magic School Bus Inside the Human Body" by Joanna Cole & Bruce Degen
Topics Discussed:
- Dramatic anatomy, nutrition, personal wellness and respect to others "bring to life lesson"
- Each internal organ was extracted, the function of each organ was explained
- Children were invited to engage their tactile and visual learning skills to actively explore the shape and color of Stuffee's organs
- The students enjoyed a puppet show performed by volunteers from the Impact class.
- The puppet show extended the topic of bodies by discussing taking care of our bodies by staying away from drugs, alcohol and tobacco.
