Pathways Out Of Poverty Participants attend
Ontility Solar Electric Training at Penn State Fayette

Intallation of the Solar PanelsAs part of the Private Industry Council's Pathways Out Of Poverty program, several participants attended the Ontility Solar Electric Training at Penn State Fayette. The participants underwent both classroom and hands-on training to prepare them for Entry-level Solar Electric Certification. This training is one of many free training opportunities provided to Fayette County residents who qualify for the Pathways Out Of Poverty program. Pictures of the event have been posted on Facebook.

Founded in 2010, the Pathways Out Of Poverty program provides Fayette County residents with career counseling, training, and job-placement services specifically for the efficient and renewable energy sectors..Pathways Out Of Poverty is a part of a $150 million investment awarded to 38 organizations across the United States as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

Participants of the Pathways program benefit from free training that will prepare them for entrance into new and emerging green energy occupations, including the energy-efficient building, construction and retrofit industry; the renewable electric power industry; and the energy efficiency assessment industry.
