OUR MISSION

New Jobs, Education, and Training (JET) Program for Mon Valley Residents!

January 9, 2012

Train, earn, and provide with the Jobs, Education, and Training (JET) Program provided by the Private Industry Council. The JET programs offers a comprehensive approach for Mon Valley residents to find meaningful career paths in the high-growth industries of Manufacturing, Transportation, Construction, Retrofit, Renewable Electric Power, and Energy Efficiency and Assessment. Job-placement services, however, are not limited to these industries.

Area residents admitted into the program can benefit from classroom and on-the-job training as well as Adult Basic and Literacy Education; Career Counseling and Assessment Services; Job-Search Services; and Financial Literacy classes. The Private Industry Council's Education and Technology Institute (ETI) will run a series of week-long, Green Energy Trainings at their new location in Monessen. Trainings will include topics within the Solar, Wind, and Geothermal career fields.

In addition to career exploration and training, financial literacy will be a major focus of the program. Topics such as Banking, Creating a Budget, and Managing Debt will be covered. The program is designed to promote self-sufficiency not only through attaining a higher income, but also by providing the tools needed to become financially stable.

Mon-Valley residents who are interested in obtaining additional information on the JET Program are encouraged to call Fame Frezzell at (724) 684-9000 ext. 4408 or visit the new Private Industry Council office located in the Monessen Municipal Complex, 1 Wendell Ramey Lane , Suite 340.
