PIC Director of Workforce Development is
an Honored Veteran

The Veterans Career Fair of Fayette County was held on November 9, 2011 at the Uniontown Holiday Inn. Four veterans were honored at this event. Chuck Burtyk, Director of Workforce Development for the Private Industry Council was one of the veterans honored for his service to his country and his community involvement.

Chuck has been in his current position at PIC since 2000. He is responsible for overseeing PIC Staff at three local PA CareerLinks; the Employment, Advancement, and Retention Network (EARN) program; and the PIC Procurement Technical Assistance Center, which assists local companies in Government contracting endeavors.

Chuck was a Captain of the U.S. Air Force where he was Squadron Commander of an 800 man squadron and Administrative Officer of a 450 man squadron. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal; Outstanding Unit Citation; and Air Force Commendation Medal for performance. Chuck is an Honors Graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education/Social studies.
