PIC Adult Education classes are being offered in the Connellsville area!
November 14, 2011
Classes are being held at the Carnegie Free Library on Pittsburgh Street and have been enrolling students since the beginning of September. The Instructor, Mr. Brett Baumgartel, has been teaching GED/Adult Basic Education classes for over five years and has over ten years of education experience. His classes are based on indentifying the holes in students' education and creating specific lessons to meet those needs, through active and engaging lessons, using authentic materials specific to some of the most popular employment opportunities in the area. "I want to help create career opportunities with my students; not just get them a job. There is a big difference between the two," said Mr. Baumgartel.
"Transition is a big focus with our clients, said Roxanne Weekley." We want our students to be able to go (transition) into work, training, and/or post secondary education after receiving their GED. Our goal is to help assist the student with making steps into their life's next journey.
Classes are temporarily being held in the conference room on the second floor from 10:30am-2:30pm daily, Monday - Thursday until December; at which time classes will be held twice a day from 9am-12pm and 1pm-4pm, with the possibility of evening classes twice a week (pending student demand).
If anyone is interested or has questions please contact Roxanne Weekley, Education Case Manager at the Private industry Council (724) 437-2590 x326.
