December Family Literacy Event to include "Santa"

November 28, 2011

The PIC Family Literacy program recently hosted Interactive Literacy Activities featuring the Turtle Clan Mother, from Thunder Mountain Lenape Nation, in Saltsburg. Uniontown's event was held on November 21 and Greensburg's was held on November 22. The presentation included Native American storytelling, singing, and dancing. The children had the opportunity to touch and hold some interesting artifacts such as animal pelts, instruments, jewelry, and dance sticks.

The next PIC Greensburg Family Literacy event will be held on December 19th from 5:30-7:00 pm and will feature "Santa Claus." RSVP to Mary DePalma by calling 724-836-2600 ext. 208 or email mdepalma@privateindustrycouncil.com
