GREENSBURG, PA - The Private Industry Council of Westmoreland Fayette, Inc (PIC) is pleased to announce current openings in their free classes for adults aged 17 and older who need help with basic reading, writing, and math or wish to prepare for the General Educational Development (or GED®) exam. In addition, free classes geared toward individuals moving from Adult Basic Education programs into higher education or preparing for new employment are also available. The Private Industry Council Adult Education Program focuses on helping students set achievable goals, both long- and short-term, while stressing critical thinking and working to eliminate barriers to success.
The Private Industry Council of Westmoreland/Fayette, Inc. is an official GED® testing provider and has sites for testing in Greensburg, New Kensington, and Connellsville. The GED® tests are a group of five subject tests which, when passed, certify that the taker has American or Canadian high school-level academic skills. More than 15 million people have received a GED® credential since the program began. One in every seven Americans with high school credentials received the GED®, as well as one in 20 college students.
