The Private Industry Council of Westmoreland/Fayette, Inc. (PIC) is pleased to announce that it has received a $2,375 grant from the Community Foundation of Fayette County for use with the Fayette CareerLink JOBS Expo (FCJE), which will be held Monday, April 25, 2005, at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus. The PIC is the fiscal agent for both the Westmoreland and Fayette County CareerLinks.
The sole purpose of the Fayette CareerLink JOBS Expo, now starting its second year in Fayette County, is to provide job seekers and/or high school students the opportunity to gather in one central location and meet with employers who have jobs, internships, post high school opportunities, or positions that need to be filled within the coming year. Participants can also obtain information about degrees or certificates available at higher educational institutions. Additionally, the FCJE will host two workshops, one for job seekers and one for employers.
The monies received from the Community Foundation of Fayette County will be used to assist in covering registration fees for the event so more job seekers may attend.
The PIC is a partner in the Fayette CareerLink JOBS Expo. Other partners include Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus; West Virginia Career Institute; Douglas Education Center; the Fay-Penn Economic Development Council; the Bureau of Workforce Development Partnership (BWDP); and Westmoreland Case Management.
