Albert Gallatin ComputerBuild

Albert Gallatin Area High School and the Private Industry Council of Westmoreland/Fayette, Inc. have collaborated for the past 5 years with the Computer Build youth program, through funding provided by the Westmoreland/Fayette Workforce Investment Board. Students involved with Computer Build completed an actual 9-week computer assembly course at Albert Gallatin Area High School with a mission to expose the youth to the Information Technology career field. Upon successful completion of 20 hours of community service learning, the student had the opportunity to keep the actual computer that he or she constructed during the course. Throughout the 5-year span of Computer Build, approximately 70 students received computers including a monitor, speakers, software, and a CD-RW drive.
