P.I.C. President Elected Chair of PA Partners Personnel Committee
Greensburg, PA- The Private Industry Council of Westmoreland/Fayette, Inc. (PIC), is pleased to announce that its President and CEO, Tim Yurcisin, has been named Chair of the Personnel Committee of Pennsylvania Partners and a member of the association's 12-member Executive Committee.
Pennsylvania Partners represents workforce development professionals in each of the Commonwealth's 23 Workforce Investment Areas. Partner members oversee and operate employment and training programs administered under the federal Workforce Investment Act and other workforce programs, including the services provided by Pennsylvania's CareerLink (one-stop) system.
The association is currently headquartered in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. The core membership of Pennsylvania Partners is made up of two representatives from each of the 23 Workforce Investment Areas in Pennsylvania, which comprise the association's board. Members are appointed by the chair of the local Workforce Investment Board and the chief elected local official in each local Workforce Investment Area. Officers and 8 trustees comprise the association's executive committee.
The Private Industry Council of Westmoreland/Fayette, Inc. would like to congratulate Tim on his achievement. His appointment indicates his strengths as a leader and PA Partners' confidence in his directorship.
Yurcisin assumed his current position with the Private Industry Council in 2000. As President and CEO, he is responsible for administering and implementing the policies and procedures of the Board of Directors of a $12 million private, non-profit corporation. Additionally, he is responsible for all functions and operations of the corporation including Head Start and Early Head Start in Fayette County, Adult and Youth Workforce Development Programs, Adult Education Programs, Welfare-to-Work Initiatives, and the Education and Technology Institute. He serves to evaluate the effectiveness of all phases of the agency's programs and services, develop short and long term planning and goal setting, oversee and ensure in-service professional growth of staff, and maintain and build positive relationships with other community organizations.
Before assuming his current position, Mr. Yurcisin served in several increasingly responsible positions for PIC, including Job Developer, Government Procurement Officer, Services Manager (South), and Vice President of Operations.
