Pathways Out Of Poverty - Pathways For Employers

If you are looking to hire workers for your green company, Pathways will provide the following:

• Pre-screening of applicants and basic skills training
• 90% On-the-job training reimbursement to eligible employers
• Funding of certificate-bearing occupational skills training programs that have been determined to be relevant to a specific career (must be pre-approved)
• Energy Readiness Certification through the Education and Technology Institute
• Green Collar OSHA Training through Three Rivers Health and Safety, Inc.

Since 1983, the Private Industry Council of Westmoreland/Fayette County has worked to assist dislocated workers and the economically disadvantaged in obtaining and retaining employment through education, training, and work placement programs. The success of your business is completely dependent on the quality of your employee. When you hire a Pathways participant, he or she comes to work with our full support. A case manager will work with your new employees during the first six months of employment. In addition, job coaching, mentoring, and communicating with your supervisors on our Pathways participant’s behalf will be used to help insure job retention. We can help your business grow and succeed. Pathways can also subsidize the people you hire and train from our program with training reimbursements up to $6,000 and qualifying tool and equipment reimbursements. You supply the opportunity. We’ll supply the right people.

In January of 2010, Private Industry Council of Westmoreland/Fayette County received a $2.7 million dollar grant from the U.S. Department of Labor to provide career training opportunities in many fields of green energy technology to displaced and low income workers. Pathways Out of Poverty Program can provide your business with work-ready people who have the occupational skills you’re seeking.

 Pathways Out Of Poverty is seeking to place people in a variety of green energy jobs including solar power installers, welders, green plumbers and pipefitters, roofers, HVAC, insulation installers, electricians, iron and steel workers, construction, and heat pump installers. 

Other green technology career fields include geothermal technology, solar and local wind farm development.
