MORE PIC PROMOTIONS


Tim Yurcisin, President of the Private Industry Council of Westmoreland/Fayette, Inc. (PIC), is pleased to announce the following promotions that have resulted from the recent retirement of Marla Ryan, Director of Education. These promotions represent a major shift in upper management and a new chapter for the agency.

Effective January 2, 2008 Tami Ozegovich replaced Ms. Ryan as Director of Education. Tami holds a Bachelor of Science in Education and has received additional training in education, management, parenting, and other subject areas. Tami has been employed by the Private Industry Council for more than 20 years. Her strong background includes numerous years of experience in education.

Tami began her tenure with the Private Industry Council in 1985 as Youth Summer Program Monitor and has held a variety of teaching positions including Job Search Instructor, AEP Instructor, SPOC Instructor, Upfront Instructor and GED Chief Examiner. Over the past ten years Tami has served as Adult Education Supervisor. In 2007, under her direction, the PIC's adult education program ranked 16th in the state out of over 110 adult education programs and the family literacy program ranked 5th. in the state out of 40 programs.

In her new capacity, Tami will be responsible for overseeing all educational programs, including PIC's Adult Education and Family Literacy programs; the Education and Technology Institute in Greensburg - a post-secondary educational facility licensed by the PA State Board of Private Licensed Schools; and PIC's Youth Programs - including 21st Century Community Learning Centers in Fayette County and youth education programs in both Westmoreland and Fayette Counties.

Tami resides in Belle Vernon, PA with her son.

Also effective January 2, 2008, Ted Martin was promoted to the position of Assistant Director of Workforce Development. Ted has been employed by the Private Industry Council for over four years and has proved to be an excellent employee in all positions he has held. Ted began his tenure at PIC as a Job Developer and quickly moved up the ranks to SPOC Coordinator and then Project Supervisor for welfare-to-work programs.

Ted is a graduate of Seton Hill with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. Prior to his employment with the Private Industry Council, he was employed as Finance Manager for General Motors. In his new capacity at the Private Industry Council, Ted will assist in the direction and management of the Workforce Development Division. His primary responsibilities will include supervising, scheduling, and assisting the staff in programs and services including: PA CareerLink, Employment, Advancement and Retention Network (EARN) program Case Management, Job Development, and Retention. In addition Ted will assist in developing, managing, and growing the Procurement Technical Assistance Program.

Originally from Uniontown, Ted currently resides in Greensburg with his wife and three children.
