Tim Yurcisin, President of the Private Industry Council of Westmoreland/Fayette, Inc. (PIC), is pleased to announce that Leanne Griffith was recently selected to assume the duties of Adult Education Supervisor. Leanne will be replacing Tami Ozegovich who was promoted to Director of Education this past January. In her new position, Leanne will be overseeing PIC's adult education programs including the GED Preparation and Testing, Family Literacy, Move Up, Distance Learning, and Work Certification programs. Leanne will also assist in the management of Education and Technology Institute (ETI) staff and supervise the childcare program. ETI, a post secondary educational facility licensed by the PA Board of Private Licensed Schools, is located at PIC's corporate headquarters in Greensburg.
Leanne earned her Bachelors of Science Degree at Pennsylvania State University in Biology and General Science Education and her Level II Professional Teaching Certificate through Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Leanne previously taught seventh grade science at Indiana Area Middle School and homebound students for Marion Center High School. Most recently, she was the Conservation Education Coordinator for the Westmoreland Conservation District, developing and overseeing the adult and youth programs.
Leanne resides in Greensburg with her husband and son. She also has a married daughter who lives in the state of California and a son who is a freshman at Penn State.
Additionally, Shujuane Martin was recently promoted to Project Supervisor for the Private Industry Council's welfare-to-work programs. Shujuane began her tenure at PIC in 2003 as a Case Management Specialist and was then promoted in 2005 to the position of Single Point of Contact/EARN Coordinator.
Originally from West Mifflin, PA, Shujuane is a graduate from California University with a Master of Science Degree in Business Administration. While at California University Shujuane was a Standout Women's Basketball Player during her undergrad years and she has been a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc since 2002.
Prior to her employment with PIC, Shujuane was a Women's Varsity Basketball coach for the California Area School District. Shujuane has made a smooth transition into her new position supervising PIC's Case Management Specialists, Job Development Specialists, and the EARN Coordinator. She brings much experience to her new position.
Shujuane currently resides in Mount Pleasant, PA with her husband, Brandon and daughter, Ayiana.
