Summer Reading Program
     The 2004 Summer Reading Program served the southwestern Pennsylvania region of Fayette and Westmoreland counties. The Private Industry Council of Westmoreland/Fayette, Inc. (PIC) collaborated with the following 5 libraries:
  • Uniontown Public Library
  • Monessen Public Library
  • Peoples Library (New Kensington)
  • Greensburg-Hempfield Library
  • Carnegie Free Library (Connellsville)

    •      The Summer Reading program is characterized by a collaborative relationship between the PIC, the libraries, school districts, Title I parent involvement activities, Head Start programs, and child care providers. This collaboration will assist libraries in providing meaningful summer programming related to the State Library's Summer Reading Program.
