Greensburg Triangle Tech Students Construct Maintenance Garage for PIC
Greensburg Triangle Tech Students Construct Maintenance Garage for PIC. Carpentry and Construction Technology students from the Greensburg Triangle Tech are hitting nails instead of hitting books as part of their coursework.
The students are building a 24-by-24-foot maintenance garage at the Private Industry Council Corporate Office in Greensburg.
The project has a two-fold benefit: it allows students to get hands-on experience they couldn't get from just studying the text while helping to defray construction costs for a non profit organization such as PIC.
PIC provided the materials, did all excavating work, and laid the foundation. The students then came in and poured concrete and built the structure from the pavement up.
Fourth term students in Skip Fox and George Thieler's class who assisted with pouring the concrete included Rik Abdulla, Mike Leightliter, Andrew Dunn, Jared Hessom, Zach Welsh, Ryan Rehula, Josh Lenhart, Jodi Glessner, David Lattanzo, Brett Fedderer, Eric Dabbs, and Zane Cole.
Second and third term Triangle Tech students in Larry Howells and Joe Myers' class assisting in the building of the maintenance garage include Bruce Steele, Matt Barriger, Nick Overly, Mike Dill, Kelly Kelley, Scott Jordan, Nick Pastiva, Jared Stern, and Pete Brunetta.
