Greensburg, PA- The Private Industry Council of Westmoreland/Fayette, Inc. (PIC), is pleased to announce that it has received a $1,000 grant from the Wal-Mart Foundation. The funds will be used as supplemental program support dollars to assist PIC in achieving its fall 2005 objectives of renovating building space, building a maintenance garage, and developing an outdoor pavilion area at the corporate facility in Greensburg.
The funds are part of Wal-Mart's Direct Grants program, which are allowable dollars awarded to the store to use in the community where funds can be awarded directly to a deserving organization.
PIC would like to especially thank Marsha Kraisinger, Community Involvement Associate and Roger Gates, Manager, from the Wal-Mart in Latrobe for making the donation possible.
More than 80,000 grants, totaling $61 million, were awarded by the Wal-Mart Foundation through the Community Grant program last year. Additional funds were also raised by participating community organizations who received matching funds.
