The Private Industry Council of Westmoreland/Fayette, Inc. would like to congratulate the Westmoreland-Fayette Workforce Investment Board (WIB), which has been recognized as a Pennsylvania High Performing Workforce Investment Board by the Department of Labor & Industry, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

This WIB is one of eleven local investment boards to be recognized across the Commonwealth. In achieving this designation, the WIB documented its performance in a ten-point self-assessment earlier this year. The areas reviewed included skills development and career ladders, labor market analysis, a targeted cluster-linked integrated business plan, PA CareerLink operation, development and support of industry partnerships, youth strategy, and fiscal practices.

In addition to a certificate documenting the achievement, the WIB received a $100,000 incentive grant. The award was presented at a reception hosted by the Pennsylvania Workforce Investment Board December 5, 2006.

The Westmoreland-Fayette Workforce Investment Board is the fiscal agent for the Private Industry Council's workforce development programs.
