PIC Youth Summer Activities

The Private Industry Council's Youth Staff is currently accepting applications for its summer programs.

There are two Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM)-based camps in Westmoreland County.

  1. The Manufacturing Career Exploration Program (MCEP) is open to Grades 9-12. This program runs June 9-27. It exposes youth to local employers and schools through tours and presentations.

  2. Our newest addition, New Adventures: Robotics and Manufacturing Camp is open to Grades 6-9. This program runs July 28th - August 1st and it is funded by the FMA Foundation. The camp is geared to providing middle school youth with opportunities to learn about the advanced manufacturing industry through hands-on activities, field trips, and collaboration with local manufacturing companies.

"New Adventures: Science and Technology Camp" returns to Allegheny County. Funded through the NSF and in partnership with Cal U, this program runs July 14th-25th at Steel Center Area Vocational Technical School. This program focuses on Math, Science and Engineering activities and tours of area businesses and institutions.
